Telemetry RN Travel Assignment - Nampa, Idaho
Job Details
- Location: Nampa, Idaho
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour shifts (7 PM - 7 AM)
- Unit: Telemetry (24 beds)
- Nurse:Patient Ratio: 1:4
- Orientation: 1-2 days unit/department specific orientation
- Floating: May float to MedSurg unit locally and to Telemetry units in Meridian or Boise
- Weekend Requirements: As needed, typically every other weekend
- Holiday Requirements: As needed
- Call/Standby: None
Required Certifications
- BLS
- ACLS
- NIHSS
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of Telemetry nursing experience
- First-time travelers are welcome (prior travel experience NOT required)
- Must be a good team player
Patient Population / Common Diagnoses
- Heart Failure
- COPD
- Sepsis
- Atrial Fibrillation (AFIB)
- Pneumonia (PNA)
- Stroke
- Detox
- Suicidal holds
Clinical Information
- RNs are NOT required to titrate drips
- Common set rate medications: Diltiazem, Heparin, Amiodarone, Lidocaine
- Respiratory equipment includes CPAP, BiPAP (patients on BiPAP >4 hours transfer to ICU), High Flow oxygen
- Telemetry techs available; RNs sign off on strips (SpaceLabs system)
- Charge nurse on each shift does not take patients; administrative supervisor onsite 24/7
- CNAs available with a ratio of 1:8; typically 3 CNAs if unit is full
Work Environment
- Team nursing model with 7 RNs on the floor when full
- 2 RNs serve as leads with reduced patient load to assist others
- Experienced travelers may work as lead nurses
- Dress code: Any clean, professional scrub color
Additional Notes
- Facility enforces a 50-mile radius rule for candidates’ permanent address
- Shifts scheduled by unit scheduler; can be blocked or grouped together
Summary:
This is a 13-week Telemetry RN travel assignment in Nampa, Idaho, requiring at least 1 year of telemetry experience. The position offers 12-hour night shifts with a supportive team nursing model and opportunities to float to MedSurg and other telemetry units nearby. Prior travel experience is not required. Certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS are mandatory.
