Description

Job Opportunity: RN Emergency Room

Location: Nantucket, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Work Schedule

  • 36 hours per week
  • Rotating shifts

Licenses & Certifications Required

  • Massachusetts RN License (no conditional licenses accepted)
  • BLS (AHA, Red Cross, CHSF, or Military; AHA preferred)
  • ACLS (AHA, Red Cross, CHSF, or Military; AHA preferred)
  • PALS (AHA, Red Cross, CHSF, or Military; AHA preferred)

Experience Requirements

  • Specialty: RN Emergency Room

Housing

  • Resume including past 7 years of work experience
  • 2 recent professional references (minimum 1 supervisor or above)

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • Fit Test for N95 respirator (within 365 days of start, updated annually)
  • Color Vision test (within 365 days of start)
  • MMR vaccination or proof of immunity
  • Influenza vaccine (required during flu season Sept 15 - April 30; no exemptions)
  • TB test (skin test or blood test within 3 months of start, updated if >6 month break)
  • Health Statement signed by MD/DO/NP/PA (within 365 days of start, updated if >6 month break)
  • Optional but strongly preferred: Hepatitis B vaccination or proof of immunity
  • Optional: Tdap vaccine within 10 years (preferred)
  • If positive TB test, documentation of negative chest x-ray required

Additional Notes

  • Primary source verification of licenses and certifications required within 30 days of start and upon expiration
  • Respirator Medical Clearance Attestation required as part of fit test documentation
  • No religious exemptions for fit testing or influenza vaccine
  • Fit testing updates can be done onsite only if assignment is extended beyond original contract

This position is ideal for experienced ER RNs licensed in Massachusetts who are comfortable with rotating shifts and meet the comprehensive credentialing and health requirements. Shared housing is provided, supporting travel nurses relocating to Nantucket.
