Job Opportunity: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics - Travel/Contract
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)

Job Requirements
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a pediatric hospital setting.
- Some Level III or IV NICU experience required.
- Floating between CORE team and PICU unit is required.
Licensure:
- Ohio State license required for Registered Respiratory Therapists (RRTs).
References:
- Two professional references required at time of application.
- At least one reference must be from a manager or supervisor.
- Charge RN reference acceptable for one of the references. Peer references are not accepted.
Prior Travel Experience:
- No explicit requirement for prior travel experience mentioned.
Certifications & Competencies
Required Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA only
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) - AHA/AAP only, required for NICU RNs
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) - as applicable
- ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course) - as applicable
- Tech Certification (NBRC required for RRTs)
- State License Verification (OH State license for RRTs)
- NURSYS Verification for RNs, LPNs/LVNs
Competency Exams:
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (passing score required)
- Specialty Competency Exam (passing score required)
Background & Compliance Requirements
- Criminal background check within 30 days of start (7-year search including all counties lived/worked).
- EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start.
- Education verification through National Student Clearinghouse or equivalent.
- Fingerprinting (OH BCI/FBI) within 60 days of start, must be updated for each new contract.
- Sex offender search, state-specific searches (Ohio Nurse Aide Registry, Inmate Registry, Medicaid Exemption), and abuse registry search within 30 days of start.
- Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 60 days of start.
- Verification of legal name consistency across all documents and licenses.
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam (must be free of communicable diseases) within 1 year of start.
- N95 Fit Testing within 1 year of start, updated annually. Onsite testing allowed if prior testing not completed.
- TDAP vaccine within 10 years of start (no titer substitution).
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray per facility protocol; TB questionnaire required at start and annually.
- Immunizations or positive titers required for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (declination accepted if negative/equivocal titer)
- Varicella
- Seasonal flu vaccination required during flu season (Oct 31 - May 31). Medical/religious exemptions accepted with required documentation and mask-wearing during flu season.
Additional Information
- Floating between CORE team and PICU unit is a key part of the role.
- Must comply with facility-specific policies including Code of Conduct, Confidentiality and IT Use Agreement, Infection Control Policy, and others.
- Legal name on all certifications and licenses must match exactly with no nicknames or misspellings.
- Candidates must provide proof of residency if license and ID addresses do not match.
- Ohio driver's license holders must not live within 60 miles of the facility to be considered travel candidates.
This position is ideal for experienced pediatric respiratory therapists with NICU experience who are comfortable floating between units and meeting comprehensive compliance and certification requirements.
