Job Opportunity: Diagnostic Imaging Specialist (Echocardiography)

Location: Janesville, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Schedule

• 11am - 7pm, Monday through Friday
• On-call weekend rotation every 7 weeks

Job Duties

• Perform two- and three-dimensional ultrasonic recordings and Doppler flow analyses of the heart and related structures for physician diagnosis
• Conduct echocardiographic examinations including M-mode, 2D/3D Doppler, transesophageal (TEE), and stress echocardiograms
• Ensure quality of examinations and use clinical judgment to determine need for additional testing
• Provide emotional support, physical comfort, and safety to patients and visitors
• Maintain equipment and work area in proper condition
• Recognize arrhythmias and notify physician of abnormal EKG findings (e.g., acute MI, complete heart block, tachycardia)
• Assess and correct quality of electrocardiographic and echocardiographic recordings; document any deficiencies
• Provide technical comments of diagnostic findings to physicians and discuss discrepancies
• Document patient and procedural information thoroughly and ensure charge accuracy (98%)
• Educate patients and families about procedures and document education
• Respond appropriately in emergency situations
• Follow established procedures for equipment use and report any equipment issues promptly

Required Education & Certification

• Associate Degree and/or Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited program
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) through CCI or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS)

Experience Requirements

• Specialty: Diagnostic Imaging (Echocardiography)
