Position Details

Unit Information

• Unit: Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR)
• Number of OR Suites: 3
• Staffing:

  • Day Shift: 1 charge nurse, 3-4 RNs, 2 scrub techs, 1 aide or anesthesia tech
  • Night Shift: 3-member call team
• Patient Ratios: 3 staff members per OR
• Equipment: Open Heart, Vascular, Thoracic
• EMR System: Meditech

Required Skills and Experience

• Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years in specialty
• Must Have:

  • Cardiac, Vascular, and Thoracic Operating Room experience
  • Punctuality with 30-minute call-back time
  • Flexible schedule
• Preferred:

  • Ability to scrub Cardiac and Vascular cases
  • Experience with Meditech EMR

• CABG (Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting)
• Valve surgeries
• TAVR (Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement)
• EVAR (Endovascular Aneurysm Repair)
• TEVAR (Thoracic Endovascular Aneurysm Repair)
• Carotid endarterectomy
• Fistula creation/interventions
• VATS (Video-Assisted Thoracoscopic Surgery)
• Thoracotomy
• Femoral-popliteal bypass
• Angiograms with interventions
• LVAD (Left Ventricular Assist Device)
• RVAD (Right Ventricular Assist Device)
• ECMO (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation)
• Level 2 trauma coverage for vascular and thoracic procedures

Certifications and Licenses

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• Registered Nurse License

Work Environment and Culture

• Small, tight-knit team with long-term staff (some with nearly 20 years tenure)
• Located on the seacoast of New Hampshire, close to Boston and the White Mountains
• Scrubs provided (scrub color specified)
• Call requirement: approximately one weekend per month and 2-3 days per week
• 3-person call team every night (2 RNs and 1 scrub tech)
