Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Contract Details

• Length: 8 weeks (interpreted from contract_length = 8)
• Start Dates Available: December 29 or January 5
• Shift Hours: 36 to 48 hours per week preferred
• Ratios: Up to 1:8 patient-to-nurse ratio; candidates must be comfortable with this

Experience Requirements

• Minimum Specialty Experience: 2 years as a Registered Nurse
• Prior Travel Experience: Not required; first-time travelers accepted
• Licensure: Permanent RN license required

Certifications Required

• BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA only
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – Required for all ER RN positions, AHA only

Dress Code

• Scrubs: All white, all navy, or a combination
• Footwear: Croc-type shoes with holes are NOT allowed

Candidate Requirements & Documentation

• Must provide interview availability in Eastern Standard Time for the next two business days
• Must be pre-closed on this assignment before submission
• Must be within 75 miles if considered a local candidate

Background & Compliance Checks

• 7-year background check completed within 30 days of start, updated annually
• Includes SS Trace, County search, National Sex Offender, National Criminal, FACIS Level 3, OFAC, OMIG (NY Medicaid exclusions), OIG, SAM
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days prior to start
• State-specific NY Medicaid Exclusion List updated annually

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Facility-specific physical exam completed within 30 days prior to start, signed by a physician
• Fit mask test (Halyard Fluidshield N95 or 3M 1860) within 12 months of start
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
• Immunizations or positive IgG titers required for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Varicella
• Hepatitis B antibody and antigen results required (proof of vaccine series alone is insufficient)
• Seasonal flu vaccination required (October 1 - April 30), with exemptions considered case-by-case
• COVID vaccine series preferred

Testing & Competencies

• 9-panel drug screen required within 30 days prior to start, updated annually (no rapid tests)
• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam with minimum score of 80%

References & Employment History

• Two clinical references required (supervisor level or above, charge RNs acceptable)
• Employment history covering 7 years with explanations for any gaps
• At least 1 year of experience in specialty or comparable/higher acuity required
• Current skills checklist applicable to the position, updated within the last year

Additional Notes

• Driver’s license or state ID with clear picture and address required
• Physical exam and other health documents must use facility-specific forms and cannot be completed onsite
• Background hits handled case-by-case with client approval
• Locals considered within 75 miles with adjusted pay rate (not included here)

This position is ideal for RNs with at least 2 years of experience who are comfortable working in a busy ED/Admissions setting with higher patient ratios and who meet the detailed compliance and health requirements. First-time travel nurses are welcome to apply.
