Description

Registered Nurse (PCU) - Travel/Contract

Location: Roanoke, Virginia
Contract Length: 52 weeks (flexible; can request 14-52 weeks)
Schedule: 3x12 hour shifts, 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM


Job Details

  • Unit assignment determined by facility need after clinical evaluation
  • Patient ratio currently 1:5 (goal 1:4)
  • Floating within acuity expected
  • EPIC experience required

Required Certifications

  • ACLS (AHA only)
  • BLS (AHA only)
  • Other certifications may be required depending on unit (PALS, NRP, TNCC, CPI, etc.)

Licensure & Experience

  • Registered Nurse license required (primary source verification within 30 days of start)
  • NURSYS verification required for all RNs
  • Years of specialty experience: Not explicitly stated; assume minimum 1+ year typical for PCU RN roles

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

  • Driver’s License/State ID with address within 100 miles of facility (required within 48 hours of signing)

  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start and updated for renewals

  • Fit test within 1 year, updated annually (not required for students)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually
  • TB questionnaire required for all candidates
  • Immunizations or titers for Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
  • Flu vaccination or declination form during flu season
  • Photo for badge (professional, plain background)
  • Completion of new hire paperwork and compliance checklists prior to start
  • Orientation manual review (not required for inpatient RNs)
