Job Details

• Start Date: January 20, 2026
• Shift: 4x10 hour shifts, 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM
• Call Requirements: 1 call shift per week, 1 full weekend per month
• Locals Accepted: No, must live more than 75 miles away
• First Time Travelers: Not accepted (prior travel experience required)
• Experience Required: Minimum 3 years in a busy Cardiovascular OR (CVOR) preferred 5 years
• Floating: Will float to general procedures when not busy in CVOR
• Facility Info: 23 ORs and 1 procedure room; handles elective and emergency surgeries for adults and pediatric patients across various specialties

Required Certifications

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA Provider/Instructor/RQI acceptable
• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA Provider/Instructor/RQI acceptable
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA Provider/Instructor/RQI acceptable
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) - as required by unit
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) - as required by unit
• EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) - as required by unit
• Tech Certification Verification (National) - as required within 30 days of start
• Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement - required
• State License Verification - primary source verification within 30 days of start
• NURSYS Verification (for RN, LPN/LVN, AP) - within 30 days of start
• NIH Stroke Certification - as required by unit, updated annually

Required Background Checks & Verifications

• Government Issued Photo ID (Driver’s License/State ID)
• 7 Year Criminal Background Check (felony checks) within 3 months of start
• EPLS/GSA/SAM check within 3 months of start and monthly thereafter
• HHS/OIG check within 3 months of start and monthly thereafter
• Foreign Equivalency Education Evaluation (if applicable)
• Transcript/Diploma (if no education verification on file)
• Education Verification from primary or 3rd party source (hard copies not accepted)

Health & Compliance Requirements

Candidates must complete health-related requirements and lab work within 5 days of signing the contract:

• Physical Exam (within 1 year, updated annually)
• Fit Mask Testing (within 1 year, updated annually)
• Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray (within 1 year)
• TB Questionnaire (in lieu of annual TB test renewal)
• Immunizations or titers for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (Surface AB positive titer, completed series or declination)
  • Varicella
• Drug Testing (within 30 days of start)
• Flu Seasonal Vaccination or signed declination (required during flu season)
• Eye Exam (Snellen, within 1 year)
• COVID vaccination copy preferred but not required

Competency Requirements

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (as required by profession)
• Color Blind Testing (required for all candidates)
• Competency Exam (as required by profession/specialty)

Summary

This is a travel contract position for an experienced Cardiovascular OR Tech / Surgical Tech in Rochester, NY.
