• Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours/week (8 or 10-hour shifts)

Certifications Required

• PALS: Required for RNs only, not required for RRT
• BLS: AHA only (HeartCode accepted), RQI not accepted
• ACLS: AHA only, RQI not accepted (not required for RRT)
• NRP: Required as applicable (not required for RRT)
• RRT Tech Certification: Required (RCP/CRT not accepted)
• Other: Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement required

Background and Compliance Requirements

• Background check within 3 months of start, including county and statewide searches for Missouri and Kansas
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated every 6 months
• Government-issued photo ID required on person during hours of service
• E-Verify or attestation required
• Residency Declaration Form required if working on a compact license
• Missouri Highway Patrol Check required

Health and Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam attesting ability to meet physical demands (initial and annual)
• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccination within 10 years
• Negative TB test or chest x-ray per facility protocol
• Proof of immunizations or titers for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (3 vaccines, titer, or declination)
  • Varicella
• Seasonal flu vaccination required (no declinations accepted; medical/religious exemptions require agency-specific form)
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start

Competency and Testing

• Pediatric pharmacology competency exam required (pediatric association)
• Color blindness testing required (except non-clinical)
• Medication calculation/dosage test during orientation (100% passing required for RNs)
• Pass/Fail testing (EKG/Medication) required for RNs only

Additional Notes

• Scrub color: Any kid-friendly color or pattern; RRT may wear any color
• Charting system: Cerner

• References: 2 supervisory references or performance evaluations verified within 1 year of start

This position is ideal for experienced Respiratory Therapists with pediatric critical care experience who have prior travel contract experience and meet the licensure and certification requirements.
