Assignment Details

• Contract Length: Up to 52 weeks (flexible)
• Travelers may request contracts ranging from 14 to 52 weeks.
• Standard contract length is 13 weeks.
• Start date is flexible.
• Shift: 3x12 hour nights (6:45 PM - 7:15 AM)
• Unit assignment determined by facility need after clinical evaluation.
• Patient ratio currently 1:5 on PCU, with a goal of 1:4.
• Floating within acuity levels is expected.

Required Experience & Skills

• Specialty: Registered Nurse in Progressive Care Unit (PCU)

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• 7-year background check within 1 year of start (must include all locations lived/worked in past 7 years).
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated for contract renewals.
• Education verification of highest earned degree required (transcript/diploma required for PCU).
• Physical exam within 1 year of start, confirming freedom from communicable diseases.
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually.
• Drug screen (10 panel) within 30 days of start.
• Flu vaccination or declination form required during flu season.
• Photo for badge (professional, plain background).
• Completion of new hire paperwork and compliance checklists prior to start.
• Fit testing for masks within 1 year, updated annually (not required for students).
• TB questionnaire required for all candidates.
• References: 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations required.

Additional Notes

• Candidates must be prepared to float as needed within their acuity level.
• Orientation manual review required prior to start (not required for inpatient RNs as of 7/10/23).
• VA State Police Search completed onsite on first day of orientation for certain candidates (home health, hospice).
• Radiation badges are no longer provided for new candidates; if required, must be supplied by the client.
