Job Opportunity: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics - Travel/Contract

Location: Indianapolis, Indiana
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)

Required Credentials & Certifications

• NBRC (RRT) certification
• Indiana state license (IN license)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only, RQI acceptable
• BCLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only, RQI acceptable
• RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist) certification
• Education must be accredited through CoARC and regionally accredited through CHEA

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience in Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics
• At least 18 months recent ICU experience
• Minimum experience required: 18 months
• First-time travelers accepted (prior travel experience not required)

Shift & Floating

• Every Weekend (EW) shift required
• Floating between multiple facilities within the system (Methodist, University, Fishers, Morgan)

Background & Compliance Requirements

• Background check within 90 days of start, including 7 years of residence/work history, SSN trace, county/state/national checks, and education verification
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start
• Online verification of Indiana license within 30 days before start
• Physical exam completed within 12 months of start
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months of start (no instant tests accepted)
• Fit mask test within 12 months of start (specific approved respirators required)
• TB test (PPD, QuantiFERON-TB Gold, or T-SPOT) within 1 year of start
• Immunizations/vaccinations required or proof of immunity for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Varicella
  • Hepatitis B (series, titer, or signed declination)
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (strongly recommended)
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required for flu season (9/30 - 3/31)
• Color blind exam (Ishihara or equivalent) with 100% minimum score

Competency & Orientation

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (not required for Techs or RRTs)
• Unit competency exam required
• Completion of mandatory RRT modules (22 modules) prior to orientation for RRT candidates
• Facility-specific orientation packets and compliance checklists must be completed prior to start

Additional Notes

• IU Health will not allow Indiana RNs to work at their facilities effective 11/30/24, except for Periop/OR RN’s, Allied, and Ambulatory RN travelers
• HIPAA Acknowledgement and other facility-specific confidentiality agreements required
• Valid Driver’s License or Passport required
• Minimum of 2 professional references from recent employment, verified within 2 years
• Employment application must be current and explain any gaps of 30 days or more in work history
