Job Summary: Radiology / Cardiology Technologist (Travel/Contract)
Location: Indianapolis, Indiana
Contract Length: 13 weeks

- Call Requirement: On call every 3rd or 4th weekend, from Friday 5:30 PM through Monday 7:00 AM
- Skillset Required:
- Proficient in both peripheral vascular Interventional Radiology (IR) and neurovascular IR
- Able to scrub both peripheral and neuro cases including:
- Stents, Angioplasty, Angiograms, Nephrogram, Peripherals, Drainages
- Upper and Lower Extremity, Abdomen and Pelvic, Vascular Studies, Venous Access, Neurological Studies
- Experience Required: Minimum 2 years in specialty (Radiology / Cardiology)
- Certifications Required:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
- Call-In Shift Policy:
- If a traveler calls in for a contracted shift, they must make up the day during the pay period if working 0.9 FTE
- If unable to make up during the pay period, the shift will be added at the end of the contract
- For 1.2 FTE, any call-in shifts will be added to the end of the contract
Department & Facility Details
- 4 IR rooms equipped with 2 single plane and 2 biplane Siemens C-arms
- Two IR techs per room: one circulates, one scrubs
- Services include Level 1 trauma, pulmonary embolism (PE), stroke, vascular and neuro interventional procedures such as:
- Angiograms, embolizations, nephrostomy, IVC filter placement, PE thrombectomy, intracranial thrombectomy, stent placements, central line insertions
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Licenses & Certifications:
- Valid state license verification within 30 days of start
- BLS and ARRT certifications required
- ACLS, PALS, NRP, CHEMO, TNCC, NIH Stroke Certification may be required depending on unit
- Background Checks:
- Must be completed within 30-90 days of start, including criminal, SSN trace, education verification, and federal exclusions (EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG)
- Health Requirements:
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- Fit mask test within 12 months (specific approved respirators required)
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months
- Immunizations and titers:
- TB test within 1 year
- Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella: positive titer or 2 vaccines required (no declinations accepted)
- Varicella: positive titer or 2 vaccines required (no declinations accepted)
- Hepatitis B series, titer, or signed declination required
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap preferred but not required
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season
- Competency Exams:
- Medication test/pharmacology competency exam (not required for techs)
- Unit competency exam
- Color blind testing (Ishihara or equivalent) with 100% minimum score
- References & Employment History:
- Minimum 2 references from recent employment verified within 2 years
- Current employment application with explanation of any gaps over 30 days
- Skills checklist completed within 12 months and annually thereafter
Additional Notes
- Prior travel experience is not required for this position.
- Orientation includes completion of facility-specific safety and compliance modules prior to start.
- On-site fit testing is available only as a last resort and with limitations.
- HIPAA and confidentiality agreements must be acknowledged.
This position is ideal for Radiology/Cardiology technologists with at least 2 years of experience who are comfortable with vascular and neuro interventional procedures and are willing to work a rotating weekend on-call schedule.
