Job Opportunity: Radiology / Cardiology Technologist (Travel/Contract)

Contract Length: 12 weeks

Job Summary

Seeking a Radiology / Cardiology Technologist with cardiac catheterization experience for a travel/contract position. The role involves working in an active interventional lab with cardiovascular procedures.

Requirements

Experience

• Minimum 2 years of experience in cath lab or Interventional Radiology (higher value from description)
• At least 1 year experience in a similar role within an active interventional lab such as IR or EP lab
• Prior travel experience is NOT explicitly required

Education & Certifications

• Associate Degree in Applied Sciences
• ARRT Certification (mandatory)
• IEMA Licensure (Illinois Emergency Management Agency)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) through American Heart Association
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA or RQI accepted
• Other certifications may be required depending on specialty (e.g., Tech Cert Verification - National)

Licenses

• Must have Illinois state licensure and primary source verification within 30 days of start

Job Details

Work Schedule

• On-call required: 7-8 days per month including weekends
• Weekend work required
• Holiday on-call only, with holiday requests accommodated upon hiring
• Meal break length: 30 minutes

Key Responsibilities

• Perform cardiovascular procedures including:

  • PTCA (coronary angioplasty)
  • Coronary Stenting
  • Intra-Aortic Balloon placement
  • Temporary and Permanent Pacemaker insertion
  • Atherectomy
  • Intra-vascular Ultrasound (IVUS)
  • Thrombectomy (Pronto device)
  • FFR/Pressure Wire
  • Management of Arterial and Venous Sheaths
• Must be fully knowledgeable in cardiovascular procedural functions relevant to the technologist role

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

Background Checks & Verifications

• 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
• Education verification of highest degree completed
• Illinois Healthcare Worker Registry eligibility and fingerprinting required prior to start (must be completed in Illinois)
• Drug testing: 10-panel within 30 days of start (no instant or dilute results accepted)

Health & Immunization

• Physical exam within 1 year of start, confirming good health and no physical limitations
• Fit mask testing (3M Aura 1870+) within 12 months, updated annually
• Required vaccinations and/or proof of immunity or medical/religious accommodations for:

  • Tdap (within 10 years)
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (positive IgG titer or 2 vaccines)
  • Varicella (positive IgG titer or 2 vaccines)
  • Hepatitis B vaccine series or positive titer (declinations accepted)
  • Seasonal Flu vaccination or medical/religious exemption during flu season
  • COVID-19 vaccination series or declination
• Negative TB test or chest x-ray within required timeframes, with annual updates if applicable
• Respiratory safety clearance if fit test failed

Additional Compliance

• Completion of competency exams and color blindness testing as applicable
• Completion of facility-specific training modules and policy acknowledgements prior to start
• Sexual harassment training required annually
• Confidentiality, information security, cannabis acknowledgment, and other facility-specific agreements must be signed
