Description

Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Fayetteville, Georgia
Contract Length: 12 weeks


Job Details

  • Schedule: Weekend every other week
  • Call: 5 nights per month, rotating with existing staff
  • Floating: Within facility and scope of practice as needed
  • Minimum Experience: 1 year in specialty (first-time travelers accepted)
  • Prior Travel Experience: Not required
  • Holiday Work:
    • If 1 major holiday falls during assignment, traveler expected to work it
    • If 2 major holidays fall, traveler expected to work both
    • If 3 major holidays fall, traveler expected to work 2 of them
  • Major Holidays Include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day
  • Orientation: Non-billable orientation hours proportional to contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8 weeks)
  • Compliance: Full compliance required to start on time; delays result in 2-week pushback due to bi-weekly orientation schedule
  • Locals Accepted: Yes, at same rate

Required Certifications & Competencies

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): Required for RNs in ER, PACU, Pre-op, Endo, CSU, Critical Care, CVICU, Cardiac Tele/Step-down, PCU, IMCU, Labor & Delivery, CVOR, RRT, CRT
  • BLS (Basic Life Support): Required for RNs
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support): Required for RNs in PACU, Pre-op, Endo, CSU (if pediatric patients accepted), ER
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program): Required as per specialty
  • EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring): Online course required within a few months of hire (no re-certification required)
  • Tech Cert Verification: National allied license verification within 30 days prior to start (if applicable)
  • State License Verification: Must be licensed by the State of Georgia
  • NURSYS Verification: Annual verification within 30 days prior to start
  • NIH Stroke Certification: As required by specialty
  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam: Required for RNs and LVNs by Aya
  • Color Blind Testing: Required for all candidates; alternative assessment available if needed
  • Competency Exam: Required for Nursing and Allied by Aya
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam: Required for Telemetry, MS/Tele, IMCU, ER, Cardiac Tele/Step-down, ICU, PCU; up to 3 attempts allowed

Required Health Documents

  • Physical Exam: Required by Aya within 1 year of start
  • Negative TB or Chest X-Ray: PPD, QGold, or TSpot within 12 months; negative chest x-ray required if prior positive TB test
  • TB Questionnaire: Required annually for all candidates
  • Immunizations:
    • Rubeola (Measles): 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer
    • Mumps: 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer
    • Rubella: 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer
    • Hepatitis B: Series, surface antibody titer, or signed declination
    • Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer
  • Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start; cannot start with results pending
  • Flu Vaccination/Declination: Required or declination signed; strongly encouraged during flu season (Nov 1 - Mar 31)

Additional Requirements

  • Background Check: Must be completed within 30 days of start; includes criminal, sex offender, education verification, and others
  • Education Verification: Required; can be pending at start with proof it is in process (due within 30 days post start)
  • References: 2 clinical references required by Aya
  • Skills Checklist: Updated within last 12 months
  • Work History Verification: Verification of most recent employer required; can be pending at start with proof it is in process (due within 30 days post start)

Notes

  • Candidate must review and sign facility-specific policies such as Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance Policy prior to start.
  • Orientation and compliance requirements are strict; delays in documentation or certifications may delay start date.
  • Floating assignments are within the facility and scope of practice.
  • First-time travelers are accepted for this position.
