Description

Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Fayetteville, Georgia
Contract Length: 12 weeks


Unit Details

  • Patient Diagnoses: TIA/Stroke, Anemia, UTI, Chest Pain, and other general medical/surgical populations
  • Weekend Schedule: Every other weekend
  • Call: None
  • Floating: Within facility/scope of practice as needed

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum Specialty Experience: 1 year (first-time travelers accepted)
  • Prior Travel Experience: Not required

Orientation & Compliance

  • Orientation hours vary by contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8-week assignment)
  • Full compliance required to start on time; delays may result in a 2-week pushback due to bi-weekly orientation schedule
  • Return to Office (RTO) policy: Maximum 7 days
  • Holiday Work: Expected to work major holidays during assignment (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day)

Required Certifications

  • BLS (Basic Life Support): AHA or ARC accepted
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): Required for many specialties including general medical/surgical areas
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support): Required if working in PACU/Pre-op/Endo/CSU (if pediatric patients accepted) or ER
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program): Required if applicable to specialty
  • EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring): Online course required within a few months of hire (no re-certification required)
  • State License: Must be valid and verified within 30 days prior to start (Georgia RN license required)
  • NURSYS Verification: Annual verification within 30 days prior to start

Required Competencies

  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (required for RNs and LVNs)
  • Color Blind Testing (required for all candidates)
  • Competency Exam (required for Nursing and Allied by Aya)
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (required for Telemetry, MS/Tele, IMCU, ER, Cardiac step-down, ICU, PCU)

Health & Background Requirements

  • Physical Exam: Required within 1 year of start
  • Negative TB or Chest X-Ray: Within 12 months of start; chest x-ray required if prior positive TB test
  • TB Questionnaire: Required annually for all candidates
  • Immunizations:
    • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer; boosters allowed post-start if eligible
    • Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer; boosters allowed post-start if eligible
    • Hepatitis B: Series, surface antibody titer, or signed declination
  • Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start; instant drug screen acceptable under certain conditions
  • Flu Vaccination or Declination: Required for 2025-26 flu season; vaccination strongly encouraged during flu season (Nov 1 - Mar 31)

Documentation & Verification

  • Background Check: Must be completed within 30 days of start, including education verification
  • Education Verification: Required; can be pending at start with proof it is in process (due within 30 days post start)
  • Skills Checklist: Updated within last 12 months
  • Work History Verification: Verification of most recent employer required; can be pending at start with proof it is in process (due within 30 days post start)
  • References: Two clinical references required

Additional Notes

  • Locals accepted at the same rate as travelers
  • Candidate must review and sign facility-specific policies such as Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance Policy prior to start
  • Mammography tech-specific certifications and requirements apply only if specialty is Mammography (not applicable for RN)

This position offers a travel/contract opportunity for Registered Nurses with at least 1 year of experience, no prior travel experience required, working in a general medical/surgical unit with a 12-week assignment length in Fayetteville, Georgia.
