Job Opportunity: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics - Travel/Contract

Location: Indianapolis, Indiana
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Employment Type: Travel/Contract

Position Requirements

• Licensure & Certification:

  • NBRC (RRT) certification required
  • Indiana state license required
  • Certifications required: ACLS, BCLS, RRT
• Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years total experience in specialty
  • At least 18 months recent ICU experience
• Shift: Every Other Week (EOW) required
• Floating: Must be willing to float between multiple hospital campuses within the system
• Education: Must be accredited through CoARC and regionally accredited through CHEA
• Travel Experience: First-time travelers accepted (no prior travel experience required)

Important Notes

• Effective 11/30/24, Indiana RNs are generally not allowed to work at these facilities except for Periop/OR RN’s, Allied, and Ambulatory RN travelers (not applicable to this role).
• Candidates must complete mandatory RRT modules prior to orientation (22 modules with a strict deadline).

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Background Checks:

  • Must include 7 years of residence/work history
  • SSN Trace, County Criminal, Statewide, National Sex Offender, FACIS Level III
  • Education verification and international search if applicable
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
• Health Documents:

  • Physical exam within 12 months of start
  • Fit mask test within 12 months (specific approved respirators required)
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months
  • Immunizations and titers:

    • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required (no exemptions)
    • Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required (no exemptions)
    • Hepatitis B series, titer, or signed declination required
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap strongly recommended
    • Flu vaccination/documentation required for 2025-26 season (no declinations accepted)
  • TB test (PPD, QuantiFERON, or T-SPOT) within 1 year of start
  • TB questionnaire updated annually
• Competency Exams:

  • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam (not required for Techs or RRTs)
  • Unit competency exam required
  • Color blind testing (Ishihara or equivalent) with 100% minimum score
• References & History:

  • Minimum 2 references from recent employment verified within 2 years
  • Employment application covering last 7 years with explanations for gaps over 30 days
  • Skills checklist within 12 months and annually updated

Additional Requirements

• Valid Driver’s License or Passport (clear copy)
• Completion of facility-specific compliance and orientation documents prior to start
• HIPAA Acknowledgement and other safety manual acknowledgements required

This position is suitable for respiratory therapists with solid ICU experience who are open to travel assignments and floating between multiple hospital locations within the system. First-time travel therapists are welcome to apply.
