Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Augusta, Georgia
Contract Length: 14 weeks


Job Summary

  • Patient Population: Adults to Geriatrics
  • Unit: Renal Med Surg
  • Nurse to Patient Ratio: 1:5-6
  • Average Daily Census: 48 patients in a 49-room unit
  • Electronic Systems: Epic (required), Pyxis, SBAR
  • Scrub Color: Navy Blue
  • Return to Office (RTO): Maximum 7 days
  • Weekend Schedule: Every other weekend
  • Floating: Yes
  • Call Requirements: None
  • Holiday Work: Required to work major holidays during assignment (expectations vary based on number of holidays during contract)

Experience & Certifications

  • Minimum Specialty Experience: 1 year (1st timers accepted)
  • Prior Travel Experience: Not required
  • Required Certifications:
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) may be required depending on specialty area
    • Other certifications (PALS, NRP, EFM) may be required depending on unit assignment
  • Competency Exams: Medication Test/Pharmacology, Dysrhythmia/EKG (if applicable)
  • Color Blind Testing: Required

Compliance & Orientation

  • Full compliance with documentation and certifications required to start on time
  • Orientation hours vary based on contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8-week assignment)
  • Background checks, education verification, and licensure must be completed prior to start
  • Physical exam, drug testing, and immunizations required as per facility policy

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
  • TB Questionnaire updated annually
  • Immunizations or titers required for:
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B (series, titer, or declination)
    • Varicella
  • Seasonal Flu Vaccination or Declination required

Additional Information

  • Floating to other units may be required
  • No call responsibilities
  • Must adhere to dress and professional appearance policies
  • Candidate must review and sign facility-specific Code of Conduct prior to start
  • References and skills checklist required by agency (not client)

This position is suitable for Registered Nurses with at least 1 year of experience in renal medical-surgical nursing, comfortable working with adult to geriatric patients, and able to comply with facility-specific requirements and certifications.
