Description

Travel RN - Labor & Delivery

Location: Dallas, Texas
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Unit & Shift Details

  • Unit: Labor and Delivery (High Risk Obstetrical Unit)
  • Shift: Night shift, 7 PM to 7 AM
  • Scheduling: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each
  • Weekend shifts required
  • Floating: As needed, may float to antepartum unit within Women’s Hospital
  • Patient Ratios: Approximately 2:1 and 3:1
  • Number of Beds: 24
  • Equipment: GE fetal monitors
  • Documentation System: Meditech, CPNS

Required Experience & Skills

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in high risk labor and delivery care (highest required years of experience)
  • High risk obstetrical bedside training
  • Experience circulating in C-section in labor and delivery area
  • Experience recovering high acuity patients
  • Procedures performed on unit include vaginal deliveries, C-sections, D&C, and post-delivery recovery care

Certifications & Licenses

  • Registered Nurse License (RN) required
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • AWHONN (Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses) certification, specifically Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Certificate
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)

Additional Requirements & Policies

  • Dress Code:

    • Scrubs required (specific color not stated)
    • Nails must be clean and healthy; no artificial nails, gel, or similar enhancements
    • Hair must be neat, clean, and pulled back if shoulder length or longer
    • Facial hair must be clean and neatly trimmed
    • Tattoos should be covered whenever possible
    • Visible piercings other than ears are prohibited (e.g., nose rings, tongue rings)
  • Attendance: Company-wide attendance policy applies
