Job Opportunity: Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) - Travel Position
Location: Dallas, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Facility & Unit Information
- Unit: Speech Therapy
- Setting: Acute care and inpatient rehab for adults
- Number of Beds: Approximately 1000
- Staff: 8 to 10 full-time and PRN Speech Therapists
- Shifts: Day shift only (3 to 4 SLPs for adult patients), no night shift
- Patient Ratios: 8 to 12 patients depending on evaluations/treatments
- Equipment: Modified Barium Swallow (MBS) for Speech Therapy
- EMR System: Meditech
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum 1 year of experience working with the adult population in acute care or inpatient rehab settings
- Competency in Modified Barium Swallow Studies (MBS) is required
- Experience in acute care and inpatient rehab is preferred
Typical Procedures
- Dysphagia evaluations and treatment
- Cognitive evaluations and treatment
- Passy-Muir Valve (PMV) evaluations
Certifications & Licenses
- Valid Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) License
- ASHA Certification (American Speech-Language-Hearing Association)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification
Work Environment & Culture
- Dress Code: Forest green scrubs
- Personality Fit: Flexible, team player, collaborative, confident
- Schedule: Rotating weekends, no on-call required

- Floating Areas: Acute care and inpatient rehab speech therapy for adults
