Travel RN - SICU (Dallas, TX)

Position Details

  • Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) - ICU
  • Unit: SICU (Surgical Intensive Care Unit)
  • Location: Dallas, Texas
  • Employment Type: Travel
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks
  • Shift: Details to be discussed during interview; guaranteed 36 hours/week
  • Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:2
  • Number of Beds: 16

Experience & Certification Requirements

  • Required Specialty Experience: Minimum 2 years ICU experience (higher value between 1 and 2 years applied)
  • Certifications Required:
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
    • CCRN preferred
  • Licenses: Active Texas RN license (temporary licenses not accepted)
  • Preferred Skills:
    • Experience with CRRT (Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy)
    • Hypothermia protocol
    • Meditech documentation system experience preferred

Unit & Job Specifics

  • Equipment Used: Ventilators, NXStage, Arctic Sun, GE Cardiac Output monitor
  • Procedures Performed: Central line placements, thoracentesis, dialysis catheter placements, cardioversions, intubations, and other ICU procedures
  • Patient Population: Surgical patients, especially oncology

Scheduling & Policies

  • Flexible scheduling with at least one month advance notice
  • Floating as needed
  • Attendance policies per company standards

Dress Code & Appearance

  • Scrub Color: Royal Blue for RNs
  • Nail Policy: Clean and healthy; no artificial nails, gel, or next-gen nails
  • Hair: Neat and clean; no extreme styles or colors; hair shoulder length or longer must be pulled back in lab areas
  • Facial Hair: Beards, mustaches, and sideburns must be clean and neatly trimmed
  • Tattoos: Should be covered whenever possible; exceptions handled individually
  • Piercings: Only ear piercings allowed; no visible nose, tongue, or other piercings
