Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (CVOR RN) - Glenview, Illinois

Position Details

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (CVOR RN)
• Location: Glenview, Illinois
• Employment Type: Travel/Contract
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: 0630-1700 Days (4x10 hour shifts)
• Weekend Requirement: 2 weekend days per 8-week schedule
• On-Call Requirement: 1-2 shifts per week, pre-assigned by coordinator
• Floating Requirement: May be asked to float to Main OR or pick up holiday call assignments as needed

Experience & Skills

• Years of Experience Required: Minimum 2 years in specialty
• Travel Experience: 1st time travelers accepted, but preference for experienced OR RNs with more than 2 years of experience
• Preferred Experience: Open Heart procedures (scrubbing and circulating) and Endovascular cases in a hybrid room

Certifications Required

• Required: BLS (Basic Life Support)
• Preferred: CNOR (Certified Nurse Operating Room)
• Additional certifications mentioned (not always required for this role but may be relevant):

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure)
  • EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) - Intermediate preferred

Documentation & Compliance Requirements

• Background checks including SS Trace, County searches, Nationwide, Sex Offender, EPLS/GSA/SAM, and HHS/OIG (annual)
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Fit mask test within 12 months of start (specific mask types required)
• Immunizations and titers required or acceptable exemptions for:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (Tdap within 10 years)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (QGOLD or TSPOT within 90 days)
  • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella (vaccine series or positive titer)
  • Hepatitis B (titer required; declination or booster acceptable for low titer)
  • Varicella (vaccine series or positive titer)
  • Seasonal Flu vaccination during flu season (declinations not accepted; medical/religious exemptions allowed)
• Drug testing: 10 panel within 30 days of start
• Vision testing: Snellen and Ishihara Color Vision within 1 year of start
• References: 2 required

Competency Exams & Testing

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (required)
• Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (required for all RNs except OR or ISCU RNs and techs)
• Pass/Fail EKG Exam upon arrival (required for RNs except OR or ISCU RNs and techs)
• Acknowledgement of Pass/Fail Testing required for RNs (except OR)
