Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Med Surgical) - Travel/Contract

Certifications Required

• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA provider or AHA RQI only (No RQI provider like Laerdal)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - Required for this RN position; AHA provider or AHA RQI only
• Preferred: NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of experience in Med Surgical nursing
• Prior travel experience not required

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

Background Checks

• 7-year background check within 30 days, including all aliases
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
• Education verification required (ADN or BSN and licensure)
• Illinois state fingerprinting required if no Illinois state license (must be done in Illinois)
• Abuse registry search not required for this facility

Health & Immunization Documents (Must be current and compliant)

• Physical exam within 1 year, updated annually
• Fit mask test within 1 year (specific mask models required)
• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccination or declination (within 10 years)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually
• Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella: Proof of immunity or vaccination series
• Hepatitis B: Proof of immunity or vaccination series (declination allowed)
• Varicella: Proof of immunity or vaccination series or declination
• Drug testing: 9-panel minimum within 30 days of start, updated annually
• Seasonal flu vaccination/documentation required for flu season (10/1 to 3/31), with approved medical or religious exemptions only

Facility Specific Documents

• Passport-style photo for badge (plain background, forward facing, no headgear)
• COVID-19 and Influenza exemption forms (if applicable) must be completed and approved at least one week prior to documentation due date

History & Verification

• Employment application with last 7 years of work history
• Explanation required for any employment gaps longer than 30 days
• Two professional references required
• Skills checklist for assigned and float units, updated annually
• Employment verification for 7 years required, with attestations accepted after 3 contact attempts

• Candidates must have valid Illinois RN licensure
• No pending licenses accepted
• Floating to other units is required
• Prior travel experience is not required for this assignment

This position offers a structured schedule with every other weekend required and a patient ratio of 1:6 in a Med Surgical setting using Epic charting. Candidates must meet all certification, health, and background requirements to be eligible.
