Job Details

  • Location: Paoli, Indiana

  • Work Schedule:
    • Preferred Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
    • May consider Tuesday-Thursday, 7:15 AM - 6:30 PM and Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:45 PM

Unit and Patient Population

  • Med/Surg inpatient unit
  • Common diagnoses: UTI, CVA, generalized weakness, COPD, pneumonia
  • Patient population: Primarily outpatient with some inpatient care

Important Notes

  • Effective 11/30/24, Indiana RNs are generally not allowed to start new contracts at this facility except for Periop/OR RN’s, Allied, and Ambulatory RN travelers (including ENDO, IR RN, PACU, Cath Lab RN, SDS), who are exempt from this restriction.

Required Certifications

  • ACLS (AHA only, RQI acceptable)
  • BLS (AHA only, RQI acceptable)
  • PALS (AHA only, RQI acceptable)
  • NRP (AHA NRP only)
  • Chemotherapy certification (if applicable)
  • TNCC (if applicable)
  • Electronic Fetal Monitoring (as required per unit)
  • State License verification (must be current and verified within 30 days before start)
  • NIH Stroke Certification (if applicable)

Required Competencies

  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (not required for Techs or RRTs)
  • Color Blind Testing (Ishihara exam or equivalent, minimum 100% score)
  • Unit Competency Exam

Required Background and Documentation

  • Valid Driver’s License or Passport (clear copy)
  • Background Check within 90 days of start, including:
    • 7 years lived/worked history
    • SSN Trace
    • County Criminal
    • Statewide
    • National Sex Offender
    • FACIS Level III
    • Education Verification
    • International search if lived/worked outside US in last 7 years
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM check within 30 days of start
  • HHS/OIG check within 30 days of start
  • Transcript/Diploma (official and clear copy)
  • Education Verification (completed by 3rd party)
  • References: Minimum 2 from recent employment within 2 years, must be from charge, manager, supervisor, or above (team lead acceptable for Allied)
  • Employment Application: Current with full work history and explanations for gaps over 30 days
  • Skills Checklist: Completed within 12 months and updated annually
  • Application must cover 7 years with all gaps accounted for

Required Health Documents and Immunizations

  • Physical Exam within 12 months of start
  • Fit Mask Test within 12 months (approved respirators only)
  • Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray within 1 year
  • TB Questionnaire updated annually
  • Immunizations or positive titers required for:
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Varicella
    • Hepatitis B (series, titer, or signed declination)
  • Drug Testing: Negative 10 Panel Drug Screen within 12 months
  • Seasonal Flu Vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required for flu season (9/30 - 3/31)
  • Color Blind Exam (Ishihara or equivalent)

Facility Specific Requirements

  • Completion of facility-specific forms and packets prior to start (e.g., Look of Assurance, Compliance Checklist, Confidentiality Agreement)
  • Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement including HIPAA
  • Personal or Auto Insurance proof if under Hospice specialty (not applicable here)
  • IU Health Fast Track Slide Packet and Signature Forms (time sensitive)

Note: Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.
