Travel RN - Emergency Room

Location: Austin, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Room
Employment Type: Travel
Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM (48-hour shifts)
Schedule: 4 weekend shifts per schedule
Float Requirement: Must float to facility Fast Track Emergency Service Departments (FSEDs) as needed

Unit: Emergency Department
Number of Beds: 32+
Staffing:
- Day Shift: 1 CNC, 6 RNs, 1 Medic, 1 PCT
- Mid Shift: 2 CNCs, 15 RNs, 2 Medics, 2 PCTs
- Night Shift: 1 CNC, 6 RNs, 1 Medic, 1 PCT
Patient Ratios: 4:1
Electronic Medical Record (EMR) System: Meditech
Permanent Positions Available: Yes

Required Certifications & Licenses

ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
BLS (Basic Life Support)
NIH Certification
PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
Registered Nurse License

Experience Requirements

Minimum 1 year of experience in Emergency Room nursing

Skills & Procedures

Must have: TNCC, ENPC, ACLS, BLS by start date
Preferred: Candidates with more than 2 years of experience considered first
Typical procedures performed:
- Lumbar Puncture (LP)
- Intubations
- TNK administration
- Laceration repair
- Suture removal
- Splinting

Additional Information

Personality Fit: Great team player, anticipates patient and department needs
Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs and navy blue zip-up sweater required; pull-over sweatshirts not acceptable
Work Environment: Competitive market with opportunities to work with experienced staff and new equipment/technology

No prior travel experience is explicitly required for this position.
