Job Opportunity: Travel Pharmacist
Location: Dothan, Alabama

Job Details
- Shift: Nights, 7 days on / 7 days off (2000-0630)
- Weekend/Call Requirements: Every other weekend as part of 7-day shift; no call required
- Desired Start Date: December 1st
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2 years hospital experience in pharmacy
- First-time travelers are welcome (no prior travel experience required)
Certifications & Licenses Required
- Registered Pharmacist (RPh) license
- Alabama State License (must be current and renewed before start if expiring during contract)
- IV Certification
- Medication System experience: Pyxis
Required Documents & Compliance
- Valid Driver’s License (name must match license and other documents)
- Social Security Card or last four digits of SSN for verification
- Background checks including 7-year criminal history, SS trace, nationwide checks, education verification, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG
- Employment eligibility verification (I-9 and E-Verify)
- Physical exam attesting ability to meet job demands (updated annually)
- Drug testing: 10-panel within 90 days of start, updated annually
- Immunizations and health documents:
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (only if working in Pediatrics)
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella titers or vaccinations (booster or declination required if low titer)
- Hepatitis B titer, vaccine series, or declination
- Seasonal Flu vaccination required for placements starting on or after 9/15 (no declinations except approved medical/religious exemptions)
- COVID vaccine is voluntary
Competencies & Training
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (as applicable)
- Core Exams I-III (preferred from Prophecy; HIPAA attestation required)
- Facility-specific modules must be completed before orientation (no time to complete during orientation)
- Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement
Additional Facility-Specific Requirements
- Shirley’s Law APS Clearance Form and results (time sensitive; must be completed and signed prior to orientation)
- Photo for badge (passport-style, no nose ring, submitted within 72 hours of signing)
- Preferred name for badge confirmation
References & History
- Proof of 2 clinical references within the last 12 months (may extend to 18 months if necessary)
- Complete employment application/resume
- Annual skills checklist for applicable units
This position offers a structured night shift schedule with every other weekend off and no on-call duties, suitable for pharmacists with at least 2 years of hospital experience. First-time travel pharmacists are encouraged to apply. Compliance with all licensing, background checks, health, and facility-specific requirements is mandatory prior to start.
