Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Valid non-local driver’s license required (ID cards not accepted)
- Social Security Card may be requested for verification
- 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start, updated annually
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within one year of start
- Fingerprinting required onsite during orientation (NM Department of Health clearance)
- Education verification required (diploma or transcript acceptable if 3rd party verification unavailable)
- Physical exam within 1 year prior to start
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- Drug screen negative within 30 days of start (instant drug screens not accepted)
- Annual TB questionnaire required
- Flu vaccine required year-round with exemptions accepted
- COVID vaccination required with religious and medical exemptions accepted (exemption form required)
- Fit mask testing required within 1 year of start (specific mask types accepted)
Testing & Competency Exams
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (minimum 80% score)
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (Relias Basic Dysrhythmia Exam) with minimum 80% overall and 100% on lethal arrhythmia section; two attempts allowed
- Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication) required for certain units
- Arrhythmia Exam Review required for specific units including ICU, ED, PCU, PACU, and others
Additional Notes
- COVID vaccination is required; religious and medical exemptions accepted with proper documentation
- No locals within 75 miles allowed to apply
- Candidates must bring original New Mexico professional license with 3D seal onsite
- Orientation includes fingerprinting and Cerner training attestation (testing out possible for experienced Cerner users)
- Work history verification of at least 3 years required, including detailed verification information
- Two professional references within three years of hire required
- MOAB (Management of Assaultive Behavior) certification required for Behavioral Health units and some other areas
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification may be required depending on unit
