Position Details

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Valid non-local driver’s license required (ID cards not accepted)
• Social Security Card may be requested for verification
• 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start, updated annually
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within one year of start
• Fingerprinting required onsite during orientation (NM Department of Health clearance)
• Education verification required (diploma or transcript acceptable if 3rd party verification unavailable)
• Physical exam within 1 year prior to start
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
• Drug screen negative within 30 days of start (instant drug screens not accepted)
• Annual TB questionnaire required
• Flu vaccine required year-round with exemptions accepted
• COVID vaccination required with religious and medical exemptions accepted (exemption form required)
• Fit mask testing required within 1 year of start (specific mask types accepted)

Testing & Competency Exams

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (minimum 80% score)
• Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (Relias Basic Dysrhythmia Exam) with minimum 80% overall and 100% on lethal arrhythmia section; two attempts allowed
• Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication) required for certain units
• Arrhythmia Exam Review required for specific units including ICU, ED, PCU, PACU, and others

Additional Notes

• COVID vaccination is required; religious and medical exemptions accepted with proper documentation
• No locals within 75 miles allowed to apply
• Candidates must bring original New Mexico professional license with 3D seal onsite
• Orientation includes fingerprinting and Cerner training attestation (testing out possible for experienced Cerner users)
• Work history verification of at least 3 years required, including detailed verification information
• Two professional references within three years of hire required
• MOAB (Management of Assaultive Behavior) certification required for Behavioral Health units and some other areas
• Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification may be required depending on unit
