Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (MedSurg) - Travel/Contract

Location: Mullins, South Carolina
Contract Length: 6 weeks
Shift: 3x12 hour shifts, Days (7 AM - 7 PM)
Patient Ratios: 1:6-7
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend, including holiday rotation
On-call: No
Floating: Yes, within scope to like units/sister facilities

Experience & Licensure Requirements

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (MedSurg)
• Years of Experience Required: 1 year
• Prior Travel Experience: Not required (first-time travelers accepted)
• Licensure: South Carolina RN license or Compact license must be in hand prior to start
• Certifications Required:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, EFM, NIH Stroke, and others may be required depending on unit/job description (confirm specifics)
• License Verification: Primary source verification required; NURSYS verification required as applicable

Work Environment & Scheduling

• Guaranteed Hours: Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
• Local Radius: 60 miles (locals not accepted)
• Block Scheduling: Approval can be requested but not guaranteed

• Facility Size: 28 inpatient beds
• Charting System: Epic
• Parking: Free

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Background Checks:

  • Annual background check covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
  • Must include SSN Trace, county checks outside SC, SC statewide, sex offender registry, national criminal, FACIS 3, and international searches
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated for renewals

• Education Verification:

  • Diploma or transcripts preferred as placeholder if education verification is pending
  • Not required for this facility if verification is complete

• Health & Immunization:

  • Initial physical exam updated annually, attesting ability to meet physical demands
  • Tdap vaccine within 10 years or declination form required
  • Negative TB test (T-spot or Q-Gold within 90 days) or chest x-ray if positive
  • Annual TB questionnaire required
  • Proof of immunity or vaccination for Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella
  • Hepatitis B titer, vaccine series, or declination required
  • 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
  • Flu vaccine required during flu season (Aug 1 - Apr 30), medical/religious exemptions accepted but no declinations
  • COVID vaccines not required but highly preferred; vaccination records or declination form must be uploaded

• References & History:

  • Proof of 2 clinical references (hospital evaluations accepted)
  • Performance evaluation dated within 12 months of start
  • Complete employment application/resume
  • Skills checklist updated annually
  • Work history verification of last 3 clinical employers (exceptions apply)

• Facility Specific:

  • Completion of orientation modules prior to start (approx. 2-6 hours depending on location)
  • Clear, passport-style photo for badge
  • Signed assignment acknowledgment, code of conduct, confidentiality agreements, HR policy manual, system user agreements, and other facility-specific documents required prior to start

• Floating between like units or sister facilities is required within scope
• No locals accepted for this travel assignment
• Candidates must have all required certifications valid beyond 30 days from start date
• Radiation badge may be required depending on unit (not required for MedSurg)
• Block scheduling requests can be made but are not guaranteed
