Job Opportunity: Physical Therapist (Travel/Contract)

Job Details

• Schedule: Monday to Friday, 5 days a week, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (5x8s)
• Patient Care Split: Approximately 80% outpatient, 20% inpatient
• Experience Required: Inpatient and outpatient physical therapy experience
• Start Date: ASAP
• Contract Length: 13 weeks

Licensure & Certifications

• New Mexico Physical Therapist license required
• Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Must pass the Rehab Department Aquatic Competency test within 90 days if aquatic therapy is part of the job

Required Qualifications & Compliance

• Ability to pass a 7-year criminal background check covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years
• Must complete fingerprinting as required by New Mexico state regulations (valid Social Security number required before start)
• Required health documents include:

  • Physical exam attesting ability to meet physical demands
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
  • Immunizations or positive titers for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap
  • 10-panel drug screen within the last 12 months (including THC/Marijuana)
  • Fit testing for N95 masks or equivalent respiratory protection
• Influenza vaccination is strongly encouraged; unvaccinated staff must wear masks during flu season

Additional Requirements

• Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations
• Completion of employment application/resume
• Annual updates for skills checklist and competency exams as applicable
• Review and sign facility-specific policies and agreements (e.g., confidentiality, code of conduct, drug-free workplace)

Prior Travel Experience

• No explicit prior travel experience required
