Travel RN Opportunity – Orthopedics Unit

Location: Asheville, North Carolina

Unit Information: J6 Orthopedics

• Beds: 32 individual rooms
• Staffing:

  • Day Shift: 1 charge RN, 6 RNs, 1-2 LPNs, 3 PCTs, 1 HUC
  • Night Shift: 1 charge RN, 5 RNs, 1-2 LPNs, 2 PCTs, 1 HUC
• Patient Ratios:

  • Day: 5:1 (stretch 6:1)
  • Night: 6:1 (stretch 7:1)
• Equipment Used: Walkers, bedside commode, bladder scanners, CPM, Sky lifts, Sara Stedy, Sara Lift, Maxi Move, vital sign machines, hover mats, bair hugger, wheelchairs
• EMR System: Cerner

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

• North Carolina RN License (mandatory)
• BLS Certification (mandatory)

Preferred Qualifications

• Hospital experience
• Orthopedics experience

Typical Procedures Performed

• Dressing changes, suture/staple removal
• Foley catheter care
• NG tube management
• Wound VAC maintenance and removal

Additional Information

• Floating to other Med-Surg units may be required
• Dress Code:

  • RNs wear navy scrubs
  • PCTs wear galaxy blue scrubs
  • LPNs wear sage green scrubs
• Weekend Schedule: Every other weekend required
• On-call: May be required every other weekend
