Travel RN Opportunity – Emergency Department

Location: Danville, Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Details

• Specialty: Emergency Department (ED) Registered Nurse (RN)
• Experience Required: Minimum 5 years in Emergency Department (ED) nursing
• Shift: 7 PM – 7 AM
• Weekly Hours: 36 hours guaranteed
• Weekend Hours: Rotating weekends / as needed
• Call Requirements: None
• Number of Openings: 1
• Patient Population: All ages
• Patient Ratios: Typically 1:4 to 1:6; may vary with patient acuity and volume
• Unit Size: 31 beds plus 2 triage rooms (7 beds designated for Behavioral Health or Acute patients)
• Electronic Health Records (EHR): Primarily MedHost (ED), Meditech for admit holds and behavioral health patients

Required Certifications

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• Handle with Care / Crisis Prevention Intervention Training (CPI)
• NIH Certification
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) or ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course)

Additional Information

• Orientation occurs bi-weekly on Tuesdays
• Must be located 60 miles or more from the facility to qualify as a traveler
• Random drug screening and criminal background consent required
• Float assignments as needed
• Dress code: Any color scrubs of traveler’s choice
• Professional, positive, compassionate, and team-oriented personality preferred
