Travel RN Opportunity – Emergency Department
Location: Danville, Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Specialty: Emergency Department (ED) Registered Nurse (RN)
- Experience Required: Minimum 5 years in Emergency Department (ED) nursing
- Shift: 7 PM – 7 AM
- Weekly Hours: 36 hours guaranteed
- Weekend Hours: Rotating weekends / as needed
- Call Requirements: None
- Number of Openings: 1
- Patient Population: All ages
- Patient Ratios: Typically 1:4 to 1:6; may vary with patient acuity and volume
- Unit Size: 31 beds plus 2 triage rooms (7 beds designated for Behavioral Health or Acute patients)
- Electronic Health Records (EHR): Primarily MedHost (ED), Meditech for admit holds and behavioral health patients
Required Certifications
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- Handle with Care / Crisis Prevention Intervention Training (CPI)
- NIH Certification
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) or ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course)
Additional Information
- Orientation occurs bi-weekly on Tuesdays
- Must be located 60 miles or more from the facility to qualify as a traveler
- Random drug screening and criminal background consent required
- Float assignments as needed
- Dress code: Any color scrubs of traveler’s choice
- Professional, positive, compassionate, and team-oriented personality preferred
