Job Opportunity: OR X-Ray Tech (Radiology / Cardiology)
Location: Spartanburg, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Work exclusively in the Operating Room (OR) as an X-Ray Tech
- Schedule: 5x8 shifts, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
- On-call required one weekday per week and every 5th weekend
- Rotate between two campuses
- Start Date: ASAP
- First-time travelers not accepted
- Must be located at least 75 miles from the facility (no locals accepted)
- Pending state license accepted but must be obtained prior to starting
Experience Requirements
- Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology (OR X-Ray Tech)
- Minimum years of experience: Not explicitly stated, but implied requirement for OR X-Ray experience
- Prior travel experience: Required (first-timers not accepted)
Licenses & Certifications Required
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification
- SCRQSA (South Carolina Radiologic Quality Standards Act) license
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (AHA required, RQI acceptable)
- Must obtain state license prior to start if pending
On-Call Requirements
- Weekday and weekend call rotation
Key Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Background check: 7-year criminal history, statewide and nationwide checks including sex offender registry
- Education verification: Highest level of education must be verified (Associates or higher for allied health professionals)
- Drug testing: 10-panel plus Oxycodone and Marijuana within 60 days of start
- Physical exam: Within 1 year of start, updated annually
- Immunizations and health screenings:
- TB test or chest X-ray within 3 months
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: 2 vaccines, positive titer, or approved exemption
- Hepatitis B: Vaccine series, positive titer, or declination
- Varicella: 2 vaccines, positive titer, or approved exemption
- Flu vaccination or declination (seasonal requirement)
- COVID-19: Dose 1 and 2 required or declination form
- Respiratory safety clearance: Required annually if respirator use is needed
- Facility-specific documents including photo for badge and orientation safety manual acknowledgment
Additional Notes
- Attendance policy: Missing more than two shifts per 13-week contract without reasonable explanation may lead to contract cancellation
- No block scheduling accommodations
- Must carry government-issued photo ID during hours of service
- Must pass required competency exams and drug screening prior to start
This position is ideal for experienced OR X-Ray Technologists with prior travel contract experience who meet the licensing and certification requirements and are willing to work a rotating on-call schedule.
