Job Details

• Start Date: February 17, 2026
• Shift: 3x12 hour day shifts (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM)
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Specialty: Medical-Surgical/Telemetry (MS/Tele)
• Patient Ratio: 1:5 to 1:7
• Unit Size: 26 beds
• Patient Population: Post PCI, pacemakers, AICDs, post MI, cardiac pharmacological interventions
• Charting System: EPIC (required)
• Licensing: Must have New York RN license in hand (no exceptions)
• Certification Required: BLS (Basic Life Support)
• Experience Required: Minimum 1 year in specialty
• Prior Travel Experience: Not required (first-time travelers accepted)
• Locals Accepted: Must live more than 75 miles from facility

Clinical Skills & Responsibilities

• Cardiac monitoring and emergency response including:

  • Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
  • Use of Rapid Response and Code teams
• IV therapy and phlebotomy: Peripheral line care and management
• Respiratory care: Nasal cannula, oxygen face masks, portable oxygen tanks, non-invasive airway management
• Adherence to isolation precautions

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Government issued photo ID (Driver’s License/State ID)
• Background checks including 7-year criminal history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG
• Education verification and transcript/diploma if applicable
• Primary source verification of state license and NURSYS verification within 30 days of start
• Certifications as required by unit (ACLS, BLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, EFM, NIH Stroke Certification)
• Competency exams and medication/pharmacology tests as required
• Facility-specific documents including photo for badge and completion of pre-employment compliance attestations
• Health requirements to be completed within 5 days of contract signing:

  • Physical exam (within 1 year)
  • Fit mask test (annual)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (within 1 year)
  • Immunizations or titers for Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
  • Drug screening (within 30 days of start)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or signed declination
  • Eye exam (Snellen, within 1 year)
  • COVID vaccination copy preferred but not required

Additional Notes

• Scrub color: Any combination of navy and white
• References required for Aya candidates only (2 references within 3 years)
• Work history verification required
• Some state-specific documents and checks may be required depending on unit assignment

This position is ideal for RNs with at least 1 year of experience in Medical-Surgical/Telemetry nursing who hold a current New York RN license and are comfortable working in a tertiary care setting with cardiac patients. First-time travel nurses are welcome to apply.
