Registered Nurse (MS/Tele) - Travel/Contract Position

Location: Clinton, Maryland
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: 3x12 hour shifts, 1900-0730
• Float required
• Every other weekend required
• Locals within 60 miles accepted at a lower rate
• First-time travelers accepted

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of Registered Nurse experience required
• Prior travel experience NOT required

Certifications & Exams Required

• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC certified
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification required
• Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam:

  • Minimum overall score of 80%
  • 100% score on lethal rhythms section
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) recommended (please review unit details)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) if working in ED or Pediatrics
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) as required by unit
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) as required by unit
• EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) for L&D candidates (C-EFM required or AWHONN as placeholder)
• State nursing license verification required prior to start
• Medication/Pharmacology competency exam (must score 80% or higher)
• Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam updated annually (within 1 year of start)
• Color Blind Testing (online or in-person)

Health & Safety Requirements

• Annual physical exam confirming ability to perform work without accommodations and free from communicable disease
• Negative TB test (IGRA or PPD) within 1 year, updated annually; chest x-ray if history of positive TB
• Tdap vaccine within 10 years preferred
• Documentation of immunity or vaccination for Measles, Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer)
• Hepatitis B titer, series, or signed declination
• Varicella immunity documentation (2 vaccines or positive titer)
• Drug screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana), includes multiple substances; updated annually
• Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Sept-Mar)

Background & Compliance

• Criminal background check within 90 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required prior to start and monthly thereafter
• Education verification of highest degree required by position
• Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years
• Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps, including education and license information
• Skills checklist required prior to start and updated annually

Additional Notes

• Candidate must complete facility-specific modules prior to start
• Valid driver's license required if driving is an essential job function
• Photo for badge must meet facility specifications
• Orientation safety manual acknowledgement required annually

This position is ideal for Registered Nurses with at least 2 years of experience, comfortable with MS/Tele specialty, and able to meet the certification and compliance requirements listed above. Prior travel experience is not required, making it suitable for first-time travel nurses.
