Job Opportunity: Nuclear Medicine Technologist
Location: Lexington, Kentucky
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 14 weeks
Job Description
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
- Call may be required
- Position requires a Nuclear Medicine Technologist with a broad range of general nuclear medicine experience and therapy
- Equipment used includes Siemens cameras (Symbia, Intevo SPECT/CT, Biograph MCT Flow PET/CT)
- Responsibilities include rotating between General Nuclear Medicine (routine studies such as Bones, Gastrics, Hepatos, Renals, etc.) and PET/CT
- BLS certification required
- Local travelers within 75 miles are not accepted
Required Experience
- Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology (Nuclear Medicine Technologist)

- Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication) - Required for various cardiac and ICU units; travelers have two attempts to pass
- State License Verification - Required within 30 days of start
- NURSYS Verification (RN, LPN/LVN, AP) - Required within 30 days of start
Background Checks & Verifications
- Criminal background checks covering all locations lived/worked in last 7 years
- National Sex Offender Search
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start and updated annually
- Education Verification or signed official transcript/diploma
- Employment verification for last 7 years
- References: Two references verified within 6 months of start (manager or supervisor preferred)
- Skills Checklists updated annually
- Application must explain any employment gaps longer than 30 days
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, updated annually
- Fit Mask test within 1 year, updated annually (specific mask types accepted)
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray (if positive TB history) within 1 year, renewed annually
- TB Questionnaire annually if positive TB history
- Immunity or vaccination for Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (with boosters if needed)
- Hepatitis B immunity or declination, renewed annually
- Drug testing within 1 year of start, updated annually (specific drug panels required)
- Seasonal Flu vaccination/documentation required year-round, with medical/religious exemptions accepted
- COVID vaccination series or medical/religious exemption required; booster preferred but not required
Competency Exams
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (required for all RNs within 1 year of start)
- Color Blind Testing (required for all candidates within 1 year)
- Unit Specific Competency Exams (multiple, required annually)
- Core Parts I, II, III (required annually)
- Conscious Sedation Competency Exam (if applicable)
- RN Math Ability Competency Exam (basic or advanced, required annually)

- Travelers must renew all documents and certifications that expire during the assignment prior to clearance
