Job Opportunity: Nuclear Medicine Technologist (Radiology / Cardiology)

Location: Lexington, Kentucky
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 14 weeks


Work Schedule

  • Monday to Friday, 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM
  • Call may be required

Job Description

  • Perform nuclear medicine procedures including general nuclear medicine and therapy
  • Use Siemens equipment: Symbia, Intevo SPECT/CT, Biograph MCT Flow PET/CT
  • Rotate between General Nuclear Medicine (routine studies such as Bones, Gastrics, Hepatos, Renals, etc.) and PET/CT
  • BLS certification required
  • Local travelers within 75 miles are not accepted

Competency Exams

  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (passing score 80% or higher)
  • Color Blind Testing Online
  • Unit Specific Competency Exams (multiple, updated annually)
  • Core Parts I, II, III (updated annually)
  • Conscious Sedation Competency Exam (updated annually)
  • RN Math Ability Competency Exam (basic or advanced, annually)

Background Checks and Verifications

  • Criminal background check (county, national, sex offender, FACIS III) within 1 year and updated annually
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM check within 30 days of start and updated annually
  • HHS/OIG exclusion check within 30 days of start and updated annually
  • Education verification or signed official transcript/diploma
  • Employment verification for 7 years
  • References: Two references verified within 6 months of start (manager or supervisor preferred)
  • Employment application with explanation for any gaps over 30 days
  • Skills checklists updated annually

Health and Immunization Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, updated annually
  • Fit mask test within 1 year, updated annually (specific acceptable masks listed)
