Job Opportunity: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics (Travel/Contract)

Job Requirements

• Specialty: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics
• Experience: Minimum 2 years in specialty; 1 year ICU experience required (Use higher value: 2 years minimum experience)
• Prior Travel Experience: Will accept first-time travelers (prior travel experience not required)
• Certifications Required:

  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
• State License: Pennsylvania state license required

Job Description

• No on-call duties
• RRT will cover med-surg area, responsible for CPAPs, mucokinetics, etc.
• Special equipment experience preferred: Hamilton G5, PB 980, Respironics V60, Optiflow, Lumis tx, Cough Assist, Vest, and IPV
• Scrub color: Dark Grey
• Return to Office (RTO) requests must be approved by the facility

Background Checks & Compliance

• Comprehensive background checks required within 30 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required upon hire
• Pennsylvania Department of Human Services fingerprinting results required within 90 days of start (all pages must be submitted)
• Education verification for highest level of education relative to specialty
• State-specific searches including Pennsylvania Medicheck and PATCH search required

Certifications & Competencies

• ACLS, BLS certifications must be AHA approved (ARC may be acceptable with approval; military certifications not accepted)
• Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication) required for all RNs & LVNs except certain specialties
• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam required for all RN candidates
• Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam required annually for applicable staff
• Other certifications may be required depending on unit (e.g., PALS, NRP, TNCC, EFM)

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 2 months of start
• Fit test for respirator use required (not for 100% remote non-clinical)
• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years
• Negative TB test or chest x-ray as per guidelines
• Required immunizations or positive titers for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (declinations not accepted)
  • Varicella
• Drug testing: Negative 10-panel or 9-panel (without THC) within 60 days of start
• COVID-19 vaccination required or signed declination with facility-specific form
• Seasonal flu vaccination required for new candidates starting October-May (declination acceptable only under specific conditions)
• Respirator safety clearance required annually for respirator users starting 04/07/2025 and beyond

Documentation & History

• Minimum of 2 professional references from employment within 12 months of start
• Complete employment application including 7 years of work history with explanations for gaps over 90 days
• Work history verification required for non-clinical candidates
• Pennsylvania Child Abuse Search required within 90 days of start
• Other facility-specific documents such as badge photo, affidavit for provisional employment, and declination forms if applicable
