Job Description

• Delegate responsibilities to Occupational Therapist Assistants and Aides.
• Patient-focused activities including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation following occupational therapy standards and physician orders.
• Evaluate patient function using formal/informal testing to assess skeletal, neurological, respiratory, cardiovascular, developmental, social, and cognitive status.
• Develop goal-specific treatment plans based on assessment data and patient tolerance.
• Submit written treatment plans as part of the authorized plan of care; update plans as patient status changes.
• Devise treatment schedules specifying frequency and duration, coordinating with patients, families, caregivers, and clinical staff.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers on pathology, prognosis, treatment rationale, and alternatives.
• Supervise Occupational Therapist Assistants, Home Health Aides, and students according to regulatory standards.

Requirements

• Specialty: Occupational Therapist (OT)
• Experience:

  • Occupational Therapy experience required
  • Pediatric experience required
• Primarily outpatient setting with some acute care exposure.
• Must have a current Occupational Therapist license active in Michigan.
• Active American Heart Association BLS certification required.
• Skills checklist current to within 1 year, pertinent to Occupational Therapy.
• Two supervisory reference forms completed within the last two years.
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility (local candidates will not be considered).
• All scheduling requests must be submitted at the time of application; no scheduling changes after offer.
