Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (RN) - Lactation Consultant Program Coordinator (Days)

Location: Pittsfield, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Temporary Contract (13 weeks)

Position Overview

This role involves providing expert assessment, treatment, consultation, planning, and leadership oversight for optimal lactation management in both inpatient and outpatient settings. The candidate will formulate interdisciplinary care plans for patients with advanced lactation support needs and communicate effectively with the care team.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Licensure: Must hold a valid Massachusetts nursing license (RN, OT, PT, SLP, or Pharmacist license accepted if meeting job requirements).
• Certification:

  • International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) certification required (equivalent certifications NOT accepted).
  • Active American Heart Association BLS certification required.
• Experience:

  • Minimum of 1+ years as an IBCLC.
  • At least 2,500 hours of experience as a breastfeeding consultant.
  • Experience with inpatient lactation programs.
  • Experience in outpatient prenatal and postpartum lactation education, consultations, and/or teaching.
• Technical Skills: Meditech Expanse experience is strongly preferred.
• Other Requirements:

  • Must have own vehicle for assignment.
  • Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility (travelers living within 50 miles will not be considered).
  • All certifications must be current and uploaded with the profile at submission; no exceptions or pendings allowed.
  • Requests for time off (RTO) must be submitted and verified at profile upload; no more than 5 days of RTO allowed. No scheduling requests will be approved after submission.

Contract Details

• Length: 13 weeks
• Orientation: 8 hours non-billable orientation
• Shift: Day shift
• Additional Info: Holiday and overtime multipliers apply
