Job Opportunity: IR Tech (Radiology / Cardiology)
Location: Florence, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Specialty: Interventional Radiology (IR) Tech
- Shift: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (5x8s)
- Daily Caseload: Approximately 4 cases per tech
- On-call: Yes, rotation between two other techs
- Weekend Requirement: Every third weekend
- Floating: No floating between units or sister facilities
Experience & Requirements
- Years of Experience Required: Minimum 1 year in General IR (higher value confirmed)
- Types of Cases Experience Required: General Interventional Radiology
- Preferred Experience: Neuro IR cases
- Prior Travel Experience: Not required (first-time travelers accepted)
Certifications & Licenses
- Required Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC only
- ARRT (R) certification
- SCQRSA (South Carolina Quality Radiologic Safety Association)
- Additional Certifications (as applicable):
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA or ARC only
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA or ARC only
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) - AHA/AAP only
- Tech Cert Verification: Ultrasound Techs must have ARRT or ARDMS national license
- State License: South Carolina license required (primary source verification)
- Radiation Badge: Required and must be provided by the agency (facility does NOT provide radiation badges)
- Required for OR, Cath Lab, EP Lab, and Radiology travelers
- Not required for MRI Techs, Mammography Techs, and Ultrasound Techs
Background & Compliance
- Annual background check covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years
- International background searches required
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
- Education verification not required for this facility, but diploma/transcripts preferred as placeholder if needed
- Work history verification not required for this facility
- References: Proof of 2 clinical references (hospital evaluations accepted)
- Performance evaluation required within 12 months of start
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical Exam: Initial and updated annually, attesting ability to meet physical demands

- Negative TB test (T-spot or Q-Gold within 90 days) or chest X-ray if positive

- Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines; boosters if low titer
- Flu Vaccine: Required during flu season (Aug 1 - Apr 30); medical/religious exemptions accepted, declinations not accepted
- Drug Testing: 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
- COVID-19: Vaccines not required but highly preferred; vaccination records must be uploaded or declination form completed
