Registered Nurse (LDRP) - Travel/Contract Position

Location: Pratt, Kansas
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Specialty: Registered Nurse (LDRP - Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum)
  • Shift: 3x12 hour night shifts (7 PM - 7 AM)
  • Patient Ratios: 1:2-3
  • Experience Required: Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, including postpartum experience
  • Prior Travel Experience: Not required (first-timers accepted)
  • Licensure: Kansas State or Compact license required (pending license not accepted)
  • Floating: Clinician may float within scope to meet facility needs
  • Locals Accepted: Yes, at the same rate

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • AWHONN Intermediate FHM (Fetal Heart Monitoring)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
  • STABLE (post-resuscitation care for sick newborns)

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

  • Proof of I9 or Attestation
  • Government-issued photo ID (must be carried during hours of service)
  • E-Verify or Attestation
  • Residency Declaration Form (if working on a compact license)
  • Background Checks:
    • 7-year criminal check within 1 year of start, updated annually
    • Federal Criminal Felony & Misdemeanor check covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
    • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
  • State License Primary Source Verification
  • NURSYS Verification (for all RNs)
  • Competency Exams including Medication/Pharmacology exam (minimum 80% passing score)
  • Unit-specific competency exam (minimum 80% passing score)
  • Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement (OSHA, HIPAA, Joint Commission annual training)
  • Confidentiality Agreement and Standards of Performance signed prior to start
  • Completion of facility-specific training videos and modules prior to start
  • Review and completion of Restraints Training and Suicide/Behavioral Risk Assessment training prior to arrival

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • Physical Exam within 12 months of start, including physician statement clearing to work and free of communicable diseases
  • Tdap vaccine required
  • Negative TB test (PPD, Quantiferon Gold, or T-spot) within 1 year, updated annually; if positive, clear chest X-ray within last year
  • TB Questionnaire required for all travelers
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Proof of immunity by titer or 2 vaccines (MMR)
  • Hepatitis B: Proof of immunity by titer, vaccine series, or declination
  • Varicella: Proof of immunity by titer or 2 vaccines
  • Drug Testing: Negative 9 or 10 panel drug screen within last 12 months
  • Seasonal Flu Vaccine mandatory during flu season (Oct 31 - Mar 31) unless medically exempt; mask required if exempt
  • COVID-19 Vaccine: Not required; facility accepts vaccination, declination, or medical/religious exemption

References & History

  • Two professional clinical references required (hospital evaluations accepted)
  • Performance evaluations required if previously worked with the facility for over 1 year
  • Skills checklist must be signed and updated annually

This position offers a structured 13-week travel contract with night shifts in a Level 4 Trauma Teaching hospital, requiring a minimum of 2 years of postpartum nursing experience and multiple specialty certifications. Prior travel experience is not required, making it suitable for first-time travel nurses.
