Travel RN Opportunity - Portland, Maine
Position Details
- Specialty: Med Surg, PostOp (Medical-Surgical, Post-Operative)
- Employment Type: Travel
- Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
- Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
- Weekend Hours: Every other weekend
- Call Requirements: None
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
Experience Requirements
- Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years in specialty
- Required Experience: Acute care and high acuity experience is a must
- Preferred Experience: High-acuity patients and Cardiology experience strongly preferred
- Prior Travel Experience: Not specified (assumed not required)
Unit Information
- Unit Type: High acuity medical-surgical and cardiac telemetry unit
- Number of Beds: 44 beds with some overflow; includes 6 embedded Intermediate Care beds
- Patient Ratios:
- Days: 1 nurse to 4-5 patients
- Nights: 1 nurse to 5-6 patients
- Patient Types: High acuity, Cardiology, Medical Telemetry
- Equipment Used: IVs, PCA pumps, epidurals, air mattresses, ketamine drips, complex wounds and burns care, trauma care, tube feeding, NG tubes, drains, Foley catheters, heparin drips, wound vac dressings, specialty beds, central lines, PICCs, PEG tubes, tracheostomies, chest tubes, Jackson-Pratt drains
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR): EPIC
Certifications & Education
- Required Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support)
- Education: Online education modules required
