Job Description

• Provide care to trauma med/surg patient population including:

  • Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)
  • Trach care
  • Chest tubes
  • External fixators
  • Neck/back braces
  • Dementia patients
• Must have ACLS certification
• Position requires working every weekend

Required Experience

Background and Compliance Requirements

• Comprehensive background checks covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
• EPLS/GSA/SAM check upon hire
• HHS/OIG check upon hire
• Pennsylvania Department of Human Services fingerprint clearance within 90 days of start (required for all except remote workers outside PA)
• Education verification for highest level of education relative to specialty
• State-specific searches including Pennsylvania Medicheck and Child Abuse Search within required timeframes
• Employment application with 7 years of complete work history and explanations for gaps over 90 days
• Minimum of 2 professional references from employment within 12 months of start

Health and Safety Requirements

• Physical exam within 2 months of start
• Fit test questionnaire and fit mask test (not required for 100% remote candidates)
• Immunizations and titers:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray (annual updates not required)
  • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella – positive titer or vaccination required
  • Hepatitis B – positive antibody titer or completed vaccine series (declinations not accepted)
  • Varicella – positive titer or vaccination required
• Drug testing: Negative 10-panel or 9-panel (without THC) within 60 days of start
• COVID-19 vaccination or signed declination with facility-specific form
• Seasonal flu vaccination required for RNs and Allied Health (declination only accepted under specific conditions)
• Respirator safety clearance required for candidates starting 04/07/2025 and beyond (annual clearance)

Competency Exams and Testing

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (passing score 80%, 2 attempts allowed)
• Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (passing score 88%, 3 attempts allowed)
• Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication) required for all RNs except certain specialties (passing score 88%)

This position is ideal for experienced Registered Nurses comfortable with trauma and med/surg patient care, who hold current ACLS and BLS certifications, and are able to meet comprehensive compliance and health requirements.
