Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Details

• Specialty: Registered Nurse
• Employment Type: Travel/Contract
• Shift: 3 PM - 11 PM
• Floating: May float to GI unit or Center One Surgery Center
• Weekend Requirement: On call
• On Call Requirements: Up to 6 weekdays and 2 weekends per six-week schedule
• Holiday Requirement: 1 work holiday and 1 call holiday

Experience & Education Requirements

• Years of Experience Required: 3 years
• Specialty Experience: Level I Trauma, Liver, and Kidney experience required
• Education: BSN required
• Prior Travel Experience: Not allowed for first-time travelers (prior travel experience required)

Licensure & Certifications

• License: PA or compact nursing license required at time of submission
• Certifications Required:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
• Other: State License Primary Source Verification and NURSYS verification required

Systems & Competencies

• Charting System: Cerner
• Competency Exams: Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam and other competency exams as applicable

Compliance & Background Checks

• 7-year criminal background check within 90 days of start, updated annually
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required upon hire
• Education verification (official transcript acceptable)
• Pennsylvania-specific fingerprinting and child abuse search required within 12 months of start
• Work history verification as applicable

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 2 months of start
• Fit test within 12 months of start (3M 1870+ model required)
• Current Tdap vaccine or titer
• Negative TB test (Qgold or TSPOT within 90 days) or chest X-ray if positive
• Annual TB questionnaire
• Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: 2 vaccines or positive titer (exempt if born before 1957)
• Hepatitis B series, titer, or declination
• Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer
• 10-panel drug screen within 60 days prior to start
• Flu vaccine or medical/religious exemption required during flu season (10/1 - 4/1)
• COVID-19 vaccine no longer required prior to start; exemptions require mask use at work

Additional Requirements

• Signed Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement (annual update required)
• Pass/Fail Basic Dysrhythmia Exam during orientation (one attempt only)
• Facility-specific modules to be completed prior to orientation (approx. 6 hours)
• Photo for badge required ASAP
• 2 professional references within 2 years of start

This position is ideal for experienced travel nurses with trauma and specialty experience who meet the licensure and certification requirements and are comfortable with on-call and floating duties.
