Travel RN - Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)

Location: Portland, Maine
Employment Type: Travel

Position Details

Specialty: Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)
Number of Openings: 1
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (1900-0730)
Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
Weekend Shifts: Approximately 6 weekend shifts (Friday/Saturday nights) per assignment block; no set weekends
Call Requirements: None
Float Requirements: Yes (to NICU, inpatient pediatrics, Pediatric resource RN role)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Experience & Certifications

Required Years of Experience: 4+ years in Pediatric ICU (higher value between 2 and 4 years applied)
Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required
Required Certifications:
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)

Unit Information

Number of Beds: 8 beds (+2 swing beds on pediatric inpatient unit)
Patient Ratios: 1:1 or 1:2
Equipment Used:
- Abbott Plum Pumps
- CADD Pumps
- Medfusion Pumps
- Philips Monitors
- Drager Ventilators
Electronic Medical Record (EMR): EPIC

Preferred Skills & Experience

Experience with EPIC EMR
Level 1 trauma care
Post open heart surgery care
CRRT (Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy)
ECMO (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation)

Patient Population

Critical care patients with mixed diagnoses

Work Environment & Dress Code

Team player personality fit preferred
Scrub color: Any (personal scrubs allowed)
No unacceptable attire specified

Additional Notes

Position covers an FTE vacancy due to extended leave and multiple vacancies on the unit
Limited backfill options within the hospital for staffing support
