Description

Job Opportunity: Mammography Technologist (Breastcare Services)

Location: Meridian, Idaho
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Department: Radiology - Mammography


Certifications & Requirements

  • ARRT certification required
  • Mammography certification required
  • BLS certification required
  • Must have 3-4 years of experience in mammography
  • Must have completed at least 1-2 prior travel contracts (prior travel experience required)

Department & Equipment

  • Screening and Diagnostic mammography services
  • Screening equipment: Hologic scanners
  • Diagnostic equipment: Hologic scanners and Hologic prone biopsy table with Bravera biopsy device for procedures
  • EMR system: EPIC
  • PACS system: Change
  • No Registered Radiology Assistants (RRAs) on staff
  • Radiologist reads images offsite (batch read)

Job Duties & Workload

  • Screening: standard screening including implant patients and patients with special needs (wheelchairs, walkers), 4D mammograms
  • Diagnostic: breast scans and possibly procedures
  • Average scans per day:
    • Diagnostic: ~14 scans (every 30 minutes)
    • Screening: 18-21 scans in an 8-hour shift or 21-25 scans in a 10-hour shift (additional time allotted for implants and new patients)
  • Will work either screening or diagnostic but will not float between the two

Scheduling & Shifts

  • Screening shifts:
    • 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM
    • 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
    • 10-hour shift: 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM
  • Diagnostic shifts:
    • 8-hour shifts varying between 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, or 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
  • No weekend, holiday, call, or standby requirements
  • 2-3 shifts of unit/department-specific orientation required in addition to general orientation

Additional Information

  • Lead tech available but may not be onsite
  • No IV starts required
  • Dress code: any clean, professional scrub color allowed

This position is ideal for experienced mammography technologists with prior travel contract experience seeking a contract role in a supportive radiology department.
