Job Details

• Department: Interventional Radiology (IR)
• Role: Special Procedures Tech (separate from EP and cath lab)
• Number of Labs: 6 suites/labs including pre-op and phase 2 recovery
• Average Cases per Day: 20-30
• Common Patient Types: Vascular, neuro, drains, lines
• Job Duties:

  • Scrub and pass supplies
  • Set up and take down procedure rooms
• EMR/Equipment: EPIC system, Phillips monitors
• Shift Length & Schedule: 9-hour shifts, 4 days per week
• Call Requirements:

  • Weeknight call: 7-9 shifts in 6 weeks
  • Weekend call: Yes
  • Holiday call: Yes
  • Call response time: 30 minutes
• Floating: No (assigned to either cath lab or IR)
• Orientation: 3-5 days in the lab, plus 12 non-billable orientation hours
• Supervision: Charge RN on shift from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM (does not take patients, covers cases and lunches)
• Support Staff: 1 Patient Care Technician (PCT) per shift

• Local placements accepted within a 50-mile radius
• Drug-free campus: Negative drug screen required for all panels
• Call off policy: Equivalent of 12 hours every 13 weeks with no penalty or pay required for the shift
• Dress code: Scrub color provided
