• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)

Experience Requirements

• EKG interpretation required
• Drip titration experience required
• Years of specialty experience: Not explicitly stated, assume minimum 1+ year based on skill requirements

Work Environment & Department Details

• Department: Interventional Radiology (IR)
• Number of labs/suites: 6 labs including pre-op and phase 2 recovery
• Average cases per day: 20-30
• Common patient diagnoses: GI bleed, strokes, biopsy, central lines, drains, vascular cases
• Patient ratios: 1:1 intraprocedural, up to 1:4 in phase 2 recovery
• Typical patient backgrounds: ED, ICU, or procedural patients

Equipment & EMR

• EMR system: EPIC
• Monitors: Phillips monitors

Shift & Scheduling

• 4 days per week
• Shift hours: 6:30 AM – 6:00 PM (9-hour shifts)
• Not self-scheduling
• Call requirements:

  • Primary and secondary call 6-8 shifts every 6 weeks, including weekends
  • Holiday call required, but department closed on holidays
  • Call response time: 30 minutes
• Orientation: 5 days unit/department specific orientation
• Non-billable orientation hours: 12 hours

Additional Information

• Local placements accepted within a 50-mile radius
• Surgical scrubs provided
• Charge RN available 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM (does not take patients, assists with cases and lunch coverage)
• IR Tech support: 1 Patient Care Technician (PCT)
• No floating required
• Drug-free campus with mandatory negative drug screen

This position is ideal for an experienced Interventional Radiology RN comfortable with high acuity cases, call responsibilities, and working in a fast-paced procedural environment.
