Position Details

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Stepdown Cardiac
• Location: Johnstown, Pennsylvania
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Nights (7 AM – 7 PM)
• Weekly Hours: 36 guaranteed
• Weekend Hours: Every other weekend
• Call Requirements: As needed
• Number of Openings: 1

• Beds: 20
• Patient Ratios: 5:1 to 6:1
• Patient Population: All ages
• EHR System: EPIC

Required Certifications and Licenses

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• NIH Certification
• Valid Registered Nurse License in Pennsylvania

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 1+ years of experience in PCU – Stepdown Cardiac or Telemetry/Intermediate Cardiac Care
• Experience with bedside and telemetry monitoring for diagnoses such as:

  • Acute MI, ACS, Pulmonary Edema, CHF
  • Arrhythmia, Chest Pain
  • Post-op Carotid endarterectomy and stents
  • Post AAA repair
  • Post PCI and Interventional Cardiac Cath with arterial lines
  • IV infusion management

• Float/resource team duties as needed
• Professional demeanor required
• Dress code: Scrubs (specific color details provided after clearance); no casual wear allowed

Clearance and Screening Requirements

• Complete and clear background screenings required prior to start
• Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance
• Department of Human Services fingerprinting
• FBI fingerprinting (must be within last two years or new prints required)
• PA State Police Clearance (PATCH)
• All fingerprints must be submitted/uploaded before candidate clearance

This role is ideal for experienced RNs with cardiac stepdown or telemetry experience seeking a travel assignment in a technologically advanced tertiary care hospital with a Level 1 Trauma Center.
