Travel RN Opportunity – Johnstown, Pennsylvania

Position Details

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Stepdown Cardiac
• Shift: Nights (7 PM – 7 AM)
• Weekly Hours: 36 hours guaranteed
• Weekend Hours: Every other weekend
• Call Requirements: As needed
• Number of Openings: 1
• Patient Population: All ages
• Patient Ratios: 5:1 to 6:1
• Unit Beds: 20
• Electronic Health Record (EHR): EPIC
• Float Requirements: As needed/resource team

Clinical Focus

• Telemetry and intermediate cardiac care bedside monitoring
• Common diagnoses include:

  • Acute MI, ACS, Pulmonary Edema, CHF
  • Arrhythmia, Chest Pain
  • Post-op Carotid endarterectomy and stents
  • Post AAA repair
  • Post PCI and interventional cardiac catheterization with arterial lines
  • IV infusion management

Required Certifications and Licenses

• Registered Nurse License valid in Pennsylvania
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• NIH Certification

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of experience in Progressive Care Unit or cardiac stepdown nursing
• Prior travel experience not required

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

• Trauma Level 1 facility
• Professional demeanor required
• Dress code: Scrubs (specific color details provided after clearance); no casual wear allowed

Compliance and Screening Requirements

• Complete and clear background screenings required prior to start
• Pennsylvania fingerprinting and child abuse history clearance mandatory before clearance
• FBI fingerprinting accepted if done within last two years; otherwise, new fingerprinting required
• PA State Police Clearance (PATCH) required for employment (volunteer clearances not accepted)
