Travel RN Opportunity - New Mexico (Alamogordo)

Position Details

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN)
• Location: Alamogordo, New Mexico
• Employment Type: Travel (Contract)
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Days (7 AM - 7 PM)
• Weekend Requirement: Six weekend shifts in a 6-week period
• On Call Requirement: Two call shifts per 6-week period
• Float Requirement: Floating to other departments as needed
• Work Schedule: Full Time

Job Summary

• Provides routine and complex nursing care independently in a clinical setting.
• Demonstrates awareness of all relevant aspects of patient care situations.
• Develops skills to manage contingencies in clinical nursing.
• Makes appropriate assignments and delegates tasks to other care providers.
• Meets applicable nursing competencies and standards of practice.
• Provides nursing care using the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
• Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
• Administers medications and treatments following protocols; monitors side effects and effectiveness.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
• Assesses learning needs and educates patients, families, and caregivers.

Requirements

Education & Licenses

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred)
• Current RN license in New Mexico or compact license
• Current BLS certification (AHA only)
• Current ACLS certification (AHA only)

Experience

• Minimum 1 year of experience in nursing specialty preferred
• 1 year of experience in Critical Care setting preferred but new graduates will be considered

Additional Position Requirements

• New hires must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days
• Precepted by trained staff with competency validations completed
• Completion of all annual competency verification requirements
